Masterbatches are formulated using higher concentrations of pigments, fillers, or other functional additives blended with carrier polymer resin. This concentrated mixture is then combined with a larger quantity of resin. The primary advantage of using masterbatches is the ease of dispersion and processing. However, the production of masterbatches poses several challenges for manufacturers.
